Today marks the start of May, a month that feels like a finish line for classrooms everywhere. But more importantly, May is Teacher Appreciation Month. While the calendar marks this as a moment of appreciation, we know that the work happens in the quiet moments all year long. It happens when a teacher stays five minutes late to help a student troubleshoot a project, or when they find a new way to connect a complex lesson to a real-world application.
At STEM 101, we talk a lot about hands-on learning, curiosity, and the value of discovery. But those concepts only come to life because of the person at the front of the room, the mentor who understands that the best way to grasp the world is to actually build something within it.
