STEM 101’s high school curriculum represents a blended learning, project-based experience that is accessible from any Web-enabled device. Students are actively engaged in hands-on, minds-on activities through which they realize the application and relevance of their STEM education experience. It is recommended that schools get started by establishing a STEM literacy platform for all students with the STEM 101’s high school foundation curriculum repository. This repository includes the following courses: Introduction to Engineering and Principles of Engineering. High school career pathways are featured for architecture, engineering, environmental, manufacturing, medical, renewable energy, science and technology. Schools may opt for individual course integration. STEM 101’s curriculum is based on national standards featuring correlation to individual state standards. The flexible use curriculum design produces a meta-disciplinary STEM education practice through which all faculty and students are engaged. STEM 101 high school curriculum can be utilized for in-school, after-school and summer bridge programming. Curriculum units include learning objectives, teacher resources, content knowledge, student activity, STEM connections and assessments.

Students who complete this course will learn the concepts necessary in order to develop their ideas into solutions that will improve our lives. Exciting hands-on learning activities like data comparison of heart rates, rating consumer products, destructive testing and building speakers apply math, science, history and English content from other courses in a STEM experience. This course makes science and mathematics more engaging, interesting, concrete, and relevant. The course’s intention and purpose is to educate students in a “main line” method providing STEM education for everyone. While providing a STEM based education for all students, those interested in becoming practicing engineers clearly benefit from this course content.
