For the first time in the history of the State of Nevada, all major government agencies focused on workforce development are collaborating to address the nursing gap with a project entitled Nevada Hope.

STEM 101 in partnership with Valley Health, Nevada System of Higher Education and Nevada Nursing and Healthcare Workforce Center has developed a fast-track training program to qualify unemployed/low-income adults for careers in nursing. The need to recruit and train qualified individuals for health care careers has increased due to the number of nurses and health care professionals retiring. Valley Health is the largest hospital network of Southern Nevada with over 8,000 employees.
Nevada Hope will qualify 75 candidates to become Certified Nursing Assistants. Candidates will job shadow with a Valley Health nursing team while completing the Certified Nursing Assistance program at College of Southern Nevada. The best part, candidates will be paid during job shadow term and CSN education is fully funded.

This effort is supported by Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation; Nevada Office of Workforce Innovation, Nevada Nursing and Healthcare Workforce Center and Nevada System of Higher Education.
