Clark County School District and STEM 101 Announce Collaboration

08/21/2017– CCSD and STEM 101 have identified areas of collaboration designed to yield best results for students. CCSD Leadership will seek approval of STEM 101 curriculum for use within the district at the next board meeting. STEM 101 will agree to extend term of curriculum gift through 2020. STEM 101 with advisement from CCSD will continue work with the Nevada business community to develop curriculum connecting students to career pathways. The collaboration supports the Governor’s Office of Economic Development effort targeting skilled worker development in Nevada’s STEM industries.

The STEM Academy, Inc. aka STEM 101, a national non-profit K-12 curriculum provider announced gifting of STEM 101 middle grade curriculum to the State of Nevada at the Be Engaged Conference in March of 2016. Clark County School District who is the fifth largest school district in the county, educating almost 75 percent of all students in Nevada would be the chief benefactor. CCSD reorganization delayed plans for STEM 101 curriculum use.
